SNL Cast Makes Lighthearted Appeal to Trump in Post-Election Cold Open

In the post-election episode of "Saturday Night Live," cast members humorously addressed President-elect Donald Trump, asking not to be counted among his “political enemies.” The skit began somberly, with cast members like Ego Nwodim acknowledging that Trump’s win was unsettling for some viewers. Kenan Thompson highlighted Trump's calls for retribution, joking that there’s now “nothing to protect” outspoken voices.

The tone quickly shifted as Thompson lightheartedly insisted, “we at ‘SNL’ have been with you all along!” Bowen Yang added that they’ve always supported Trump, while Heidi Gardner joked she “voted for him fifty times” in Pennsylvania.

James Austin Johnson introduced a buff “hot jacked Trump,” flexing and claiming this portrayal would now reflect Trump as his “hero.” Dana Carvey made a cameo as Elon Musk, rounding out the playful tone. This week’s episode was hosted by comedian Bill Burr, with music byMk.gee.
