Saif Ali Khan Survives Intruder’s Knife Attack at Mumbai Home

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan faced a terrifying ordeal after being attacked by an intruder at his Mumbai residence early Thursday morning. The assailant, suspected to be a burglar, reportedly entered Khan’s Bandra apartment through a fire escape around midnight. When the actor confronted the intruder, a violent struggle broke out, leaving Khan with multiple stab wounds to his spine, neck, and hand. A female employee present at the scene was also injured while trying to intervene.

Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Dr. Nitin Dange, the neurosurgeon who treated him, revealed that the actor had a knife lodged near his thoracic spine. The surgery involved removing the weapon and repairing a spinal fluid leak caused by the injuries. Fortunately, the procedure was successful, and Khan is now on the road to recovery. Medical professionals have assured fans that he is out of danger.

Mumbai police have launched an investigation and identified a suspect. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam, the intruder likely intended to rob the apartment but encountered resistance from Khan. The authorities are combing through CCTV footage and conducting searches in the area to apprehend the culprit. As of now, no arrests have been made.

The attack has raised concerns about celebrity security in Mumbai. Saif Ali Khan, a celebrated actor and the son of legendary cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore, lives with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, and their two young sons. The incident has prompted calls for improved security measures, especially in high-profile residential areas like Bandra.

Prominent figures in Bollywood and politics have expressed outrage. Actress Pooja Bhatt and others have criticized the declining safety in Mumbai, while Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson Clyde Crasto questioned law enforcement’s effectiveness, warning that if a celebrity could be attacked at home, ordinary citizens might be at even greater risk.
