GOP Divisions in Georgia Drive Election Misinformation

In Georgia, growing distrust among conservatives toward Republican election officials is fueling misinformation as Election Day nears. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger dismissed a viral video of alleged immigrant voters as Russian disinformation, a stance backed by U.S. intelligence. Yet, some Trump-aligned conservatives, like organizer Kylie Jane Kremer, remain skeptical, accusing Raffensperger of untrustworthiness.

Georgia’s shift from a Republican stronghold to a battleground state has intensified legal battles and false claims, especially around absentee ballot procedures in Atlanta’s Fulton County. Despite official assurances, conservative figures like Janice Johnston of the State Election Board continue to share unverified warnings about ballot security. However, visits to local election offices over the weekend showed calm, contradicting claims of chaos and confusion.
