Miss Denmark Makes History with First-Ever Miss Universe Crown

For the first time in history, Miss Denmark Victoria Kjr Theilvig has won the prestigious Miss Universe crown at the 73rd annual pageant held in Mexico City. Theilvig, a 21-year-old dancer and beauty entrepreneur, captivated judges with her advocacy for mental health and animal rights, as well as her inspiring message to women worldwide. She was crowned by Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, Miss Universe 2023, in a landmark victory for Denmark, which hadn’t reached the competition's top five in 61 years.

Chidimma Adetshina of Nigeria made history as the first Nigerian contestant to place in the top five, finishing as first runner-up, while Mexico’s Mara Fernanda Beltrán Figueroa claimed third place. The final round saw the top contestants address a question about empowering women, with Theilvig declaring, “No matter where you come from, your past does not define you. Keep fighting, believe in yourself, and you can make history.” Her bold words and commitment to change won the hearts of the audience and judges alike.

This year’s Miss Universe pageant celebrated groundbreaking achievements with participants from over 120 countries. Miss Egypt Logina Salah became the first contestant with vitiligo, while Miss Malta Beatrice Njoya shattered norms as the oldest competitor at 40. The event showcased diversity, empowerment, and resilience, solidifying its legacy as a platform for inspiring women across the globe.
