Dozens Killed in Gaza Following Israeli Strike on Jabalia Home, Say Medics and Rescuers

An Israeli airstrike on a house in Jabalia, northern Gaza, has resulted in dozens of fatalities and injuries, according to local Palestinian medics and rescuers. Palestinian sources, including the Wafa news agency and the Hamas-controlled civil defense, report at least 30 deaths, including 13 children.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed an operation targeting Jabalia, claiming the site was associated with terrorist activities and stating efforts were made to limit civilian harm, with the situation under review. Humanitarian organizations report that Jabalia and nearby areas have been under intense siege since Israel’s ground offensive began in October.

Dr. Fadel Naim from Al-Ahly Hospital in Gaza City confirmed 17 bodies from the Jabalia strike, foreseeing a rising toll. Witnesses described the incident as an "earthquake," with bodies found among rubble and debris, citing the Alloush family residence as hit without warning. Another strike in Gaza City reportedly killed a senior official and his family.

The UN has called the northern Gaza conflict the "darkest moment" of the war, noting that nearly 70% of the fatalities are women and children.
