Former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump expressed strong confidence on Tuesday about his chances of reclaiming the White House, stating he believes he “ran a great campaign” against Democratic rival Kamala Harris. After casting his ballot in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump remarked that he felt “very confident” in his prospects, as polls showed a close race.
Trump emphasized that he would be prepared to concede if Tuesday’s election is “fair.” However, he once again raised concerns over the reliability of electronic voting machines, suggesting they may pose security risks and contribute to delays.
"If I lose an election, if it's a fair election, I would be the first to acknowledge it. So far, I think it's been fair," Trump said.
Wearing his iconic red "Make America Great Again" hat, he argued that paper ballots with watermarks, coupled with voter ID requirements and single-day voting, would streamline the process and enhance security. “If they used paper ballots, voter ID, proof of citizenship, and one-day voting, it would all be over by 10 p.m.,” Trump stated. “Do you know that paper is more sophisticated now than computers?”
When asked about potential post-election unrest and whether he would urge supporters to avoid violence, Trump dismissed the need for such a call. “I don’t have to tell them that; my supporters are not violent people,” he replied.
